Origins:
Harvested from naturally occurring stands of Boswellia trees, Frankincense was traditionally burned in the temple as an offering to God. The ancient Egyptians used it to embalm their pharaohs, the Greeks and Romans prescribed it against virtually any illness, and due to its many uses it was once more expensive than gold. Frankincense has long been lauded as a spiritual scent and a holistic medicinal ingredient.
Benefits:
Valued for its relaxing and restorative qualities, Frankincense works as an expectorant to clear the nasal passageway, promote the relief of congestion, and encourage easy breathing. Its sweet, woody aroma is sedative and enhances mood by diminishing feelings of stress and inducing feelings of peace, relaxation and satisfaction, all while improving concentration and memory. It's been scientifically proven to have psychoactive properties, lowering anxiety and providing effects similar to an antidepressant. Frankincense can soothe fraught emotions, encourage a deep sense of calm without making you sleepy and help you feel grounded
